Now, you may be wondering, how did Veronika and Archie’s extraordinary bond come to be? It all began when the bear was just a cub, residing in a local zoo that unfortunately went bankrupt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The impending closure of the zoo meant that Archie would lose his home. This dire news reached the compassionate ears of Veronika, who promptly visited the zoo facilities and inquired about the possibility of adopting him. Her heartfelt request was met with approval, and she welcomed Archie into her home with open arms.
“Archie sees me as a member of his family. We share food, he sleeps in my arms when he’s scared, and he hides behind me. We rescued him from the safari park, but we cannot release him into the wild because he has lived in captivity all his life,” shared Veronika.
The Siberian bear enjoys special protection in Russia, which allows brown bears like Archie to be kept as pets. However, Archie’s rescue status may have played a pivotal role in Veronika obtaining special permission to provide him with a loving home.

“Archie spends every day with us, and he is madly in love with water. He really enjoys exploring new places with me, so this photoshoot was an absolute delight for him,” added Veronika Dichka in her post.
