Something giant in our Solar System has tilted the Sun by 6 degrees.
Our solar system, with its eight planets, numerous asteroids, and countless comets, is a vast and complex system. And yet, recent observations have revealed that there may be something even more massive lurking out there, something that has caused the entire solar system to tilt.
According to a study published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics, the Sun has been tilted by about 6 degrees from its expected position relative to the plane of the solar system. This unexpected tilt has been attributed to the gravitational influence of an object that is approximately 10 times more massive than Earth and is located in the outer reaches of our solar system.
This massive object, which has been dubbed “Planet Nine,” has been hypothesized by astronomers for several years now. Its existence was first proposed in 2016, when scientists noticed peculiar orbital patterns among a number of objects in the Kuiper Belt, a region beyond Neptune that is home to many icy objects.
Since then, researchers have been searching for Planet Nine, hoping to catch a glimpse of this mysterious object. But so far, they have been unsuccessful in their attempts to directly observe it. Instead, they have had to rely on indirect evidence, such as the unusual orbits of the Kuiper Belt objects.
Despite the lack of direct evidence, many scientists believe that Planet Nine is a real and important part of our solar system. Some have even suggested that it may have played a role in the formation and evolution of the solar system as we know it today.
But until we can directly observe this massive object, we will be left with many unanswered questions about its properties and its influence on our solar system. Nonetheless, the discovery of a possible ninth planet in our solar system is an exciting development that highlights just how much we have yet to learn about the universe around us.
