Mom Shares Photographs Illustrating the Difficulties of Breastfeeding Twins
Ashley Graham, a model and mother of three, has taken to Instagram to discuss the challenges faced by new mothers. After giving birth to her first child, Isaac, in January, Ashley welcomed twins Malachi and Roman. Determined to provide both infants with the love and nourishment they need, the model is defying the exhaustion typically experienced by new mothers.
On Friday, the 34-year-old posted a photograph on Instagram of herself simultaneously breastfeeding the two infants. “Tired. Nevertheless, we’re here,” she captioned the photo.
On January 7, the supermodel and her spouse, Justin Ervin, welcomed their twin daughters. Ashley has always been open about her struggles with lactation and other difficulties she faces as a mother of three on social media.
A month ago, Graham revealed that she had learned to feed her sons simultaneously, although not without some discomfort. “A few weeks of trial and error” and “many tears” were required before the two babies began to bond properly.
The model shared a photo on her Instagram Stories depicting her “typical breastfeeding position,” in which she sat in a chair with both infants lying across her chest. Ashley already had experience breastfeeding Isaac before giving birth to the twins. However, while breastfeeding Isaac was simple and only took “a day or two” to establish, the same could not be said for the twins.
In a recent interview, Graham was candid about the post-pregnancy aftermath that every woman goes through but rarely talks about. She mentioned how the body changes during pregnancy, including stretch marks, loose skin, formula feeding, and breastfeeding.
Graham also emphasized the importance of personal choice when it comes to feeding one’s child. She firmly believes that every mother has the right to decide whether breastfeeding is the right choice for her, regardless of societal expectations.
