Coincidentally, Powell’s timing was impeccable. In the preceding weeks, the UK experienced the destructive forces of two European windstorms named Eunice and Franklin, causing significant damage to homes and landmarks. However, after the storms had passed, the weather became calmer, creating the perfect conditions for the formation of rainbows.
Upon sharing his remarkable photograph on social media, Powell received accolades for his rare capture. However, some skeptics questioned its authenticity, suggesting possible Photoshop manipulation. Powell, on the other hand, has a reputation for being in the right place at the right time. He manages the Powell Gallery & Shop in Newport, Isle of Wight, where he showcases his talents as a fine art landscape photographer.
