Delta Air Lines Boeing 747 Encounters Hailstorm: Aircraft’s Nose Broken and Wing Damaged

A Delta Air Lines Boeing 747 carrying 388 people encountered a terrifying incident when it flew through a severe hailstorm, resulting in a broken nose and other damages to the aircraft. The incident took place during a flight from Detroit, USA, to Seoul, South Korea, as the plane passed through stormy weather in China.

The extreme weather conditions had a visible impact on the fuselage of the Boeing 747, leaving noticeable marks. Not only was the nose of the plane affected, but the wing also sustained damage. Furthermore, one of the four jet engines suffered significant harm as well. According to the pilot, they were not granted permission by Chinese authorities to deviate from the storm, thus compelling them to navigate through the area of severe weather.

Flight DL-159, which carried 369 passengers and 19 crew members, experienced the incident on June 16. Despite the damage incurred during the encounter with the storm, the aircraft managed to safely continue its journey towards Seoul and landed without further complications.

Following the landing, passengers on board took photographs of the plane’s damaged wing, causing panic among the individuals as they learned that the aircraft had just traversed through a hailstorm. The images served as a vivid reminder of the dangerous situation they had encountered mid-flight.
