It seems that Serena Williams’s daughter is already following in her mother’s footsteps, particularly when it comes to tennis. In a nostalgic video shared on Instagram, the 41-year-old tennis champion brings her daughter Olympia, who is now 5 years old, onto the tennis court to impart some of her iconic skills.
In the video, Williams imparts her tennis wisdom to Olympia. “You know what grandpa taught me?” Williams asks her daughter. “So first thing you do is turn,” she explains as she demonstrates the movement herself. She goes on to guide her daughter through the steps, saying, “Back, reach, hand, follow through,” as Olympia mimics her every move. While these instructions might be intricate for a 3-year-old, Williams encourages her daughter, saying, “It’s very complicated for a 3-year-old but you might get it.”
In another delightful clip, Williams bounces a tennis ball and utters the words “bounce hit,” prompting Olympia to swing her racket and successfully hit the ball. Williams praises her daughter, saying, “Good job,” with a proud smile.
Throughout the video, Williams and her daughter engage in playful rallies, hitting tennis balls back and forth on the court. Their interaction is heartwarming as Williams cheers on her daughter’s efforts, exclaiming, “That was so close!” when Olympia almost makes a particularly impressive shot.
Beyond their tennis bonding, Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian, aged 40, recently embarked on a trip to Italy, a babymoon of sorts, with their daughter. Ohanian shared snapshots of their vacation on social media, capturing their family moments.
