The Newborn Has White Hair, Earning Him The Nickname “White Horse Prince.”
Bence’s birth in a hospital in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, was a source of concern for his parents and confusion for the medical staff. His hair was snow-white from the moment he was born, which initially raised alarms among medical professionals due to the disorder known as albinism. Albinism is a condition that inhibits the body’s production of melanin, resulting in the absence or reduction of pigmentation.
While the majority of Western pregnant women can now enjoy incredible 3D photographs of their unborn babies, thanks to modern technological breakthroughs, Bence’s case posed a challenge. Doctors were unable to determine the baby’s skin tone, amount of hair, or eye color through routine examinations. Fortunately, further evaluation revealed that Bence did not have albinism. However, considering the extreme shortage of melanin, it was likely a temporary circumstance as melanin often develops as infants grow older. Babies are often born with blonde hair and blue eyes, with their eye and hair colors undergoing significant changes as they age.
Nevertheless, due to his unique milky white hair, the nurses in the midwifery area affectionately referred to him as Prince Charming. Bence is a lovely, chubby young man in every other aspect. He was delivered on time, weighing a massive 5400 grams and measuring 54 centimeters tall. Dr. Zoltan Kummer clarified that Bence does not have albinism because his white hair alone is not an indication of the condition. In cases of albinism, both the skin and irises would lack melanin pigmentation.
Millions of people worldwide agree that Bence is a special baby boy, thanks to his charming nickname and remarkable head of hair, which gained viral attention. Although I acknowledge that every child is unique, Bence immediately stood out. He resembles an old, wise king in several ways, but I’m sure he will appear more youthful as he grows older. Who would have believed it?
